About usProject Description
PARMa Knowledge Network (PKN) is developing an innovative approach to sustain research, innovation, and training activities in the agri-food sector, by networking the knowledge of entrepreneurs, experts, academics, public managers, and private companies from all over the world.
PKN’s main target is bringing to Parma the skills and the know-how stemming from International multi-discipline research in order to carry out initiatives aimed at enhancing the sustainable competitiveness of a modern agri-food system such as the Italian one. Most of all it aims at overcoming obstacles that might hinder the business research, innovation, and development process.
The main PKN’s organizational characteristics are:
- A virtual, streamlined and flexible, multi-discipline and transversal structure specializing to make the most of the skills of the members’ network.
- An integrated approach to research and innovation opportunities, in order to “bring the companies closer” to knowledge and innovation and to offer operational, customized, and turn-key solutions.
PKN sets itself the objective of having a strong impact on the territory through concrete and measurable results to foster the development of both companies and human capital, to promote a better innovation culture and, last but not least, to boost the image of Italy – and namely that of Parma – the world capital of quality agri-food. |
